Dr. Susan McDonald received her Master of Science degree in biology from Utah State University, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University in 1984. Dr McDonald practiced at Central Valley in the 1990's, and rejoined the hospital staff in 2002. Her veterinary interests include internal medicine, feline medicine, critical care, and nutrition.
Outside of veterinary medicine Dr. McDonald enjoys vegetable gardening, cooking, horseback riding, music, and barn chores. She lives with her husband and 9 four legged kids - 3 horses (Joe, Keno, and Rock), 2 dogs (Spot and Sally), and 4 cats (Missy, B.C., Hudson, and Kitten). |

Dr. Laura McLain received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Wisconsin in 1997. She has been at Central Valley since 1999. Her professional interests include internal medicine, critical care, soft tissue surgery, and pain management. In addition to dogs and cats, she also treats rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs and rodents.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. McLain enjoys reading, writing, gardening and photography. She lives with her husband and two young daughters. She has two dogs, a German shepherd mix named Leyla and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Pippin, and one cat, a grey tabby named Clyde. |

Dr. Kristen Blum received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2002. She has been with the Central Valley Veterinary Group since graduation. In addition to internal medicine and surgery, she has an interest in canine rehabilitation medicine including manual therapy, laser therapy, ultrasound therapy, and strengthening exercises.
Her love of the outdoors brought her from Ohio to Utah where she enjoys skiing with her husband and hiking with her two golden retrievers - Lexie and Forrest. Her English Bulldog - LB unfortunately can not go on hikes but will tag along for an occasional swim in the water (with his life vest of course). She also has three cats - Madison, Sampras, and LP who help her enjoy reading a good book as they roll on the pages trying to claim the book as their future napping spot. |
